The reality for many of our clients is an empty dwelling. They have walls and a door. Rooms. A place to call their own.
…but little to turn that dwelling into a home. They often don’t have or cannot provide the household goods they need to have a cup of coffee in the morning, put their feet up after a long day at work, cook a healthy dinner for their family, or tuck their kids into bed at night.
That need is how Renesting’s mission was born and is a narrative we still utilize when sharing our mission.
During a Renest, a team of volunteers delivers, sets up, unpacks, decorates, and provides special touches of home.
Here are a few before and after pictures from various renests.
I have an idea.. is it possible for you to hold a “pick up day” with a large box truck in a couple of Shreveport neighborhoods once or twice month? I think I if you were to set up at the Mall St Vincent Parking lot for example, it’s highly likely you would get a ton of donations from people that just can’t find the time to drop their items to you in bossier. I certainly would load you up! I am also interested in helping with apartment set up so please add me to your call list. Thanks for all the work you do!
Kelly, that’s a great idea and definitely something we can look forward to in the future! Unfortunately, we just aren’t in the position to start a project like that right now. We have slowly been reopening and resuming our services. Look for a post coming soon about everything we’re doing in light of the pandemic to keep our volunteers, donors, and staff safe!
