Help us give a warm welcome to our new warehouse coordinator, Ryan Pratt!
Ryan heard about Renesting through one of our board members. They met about 6 years ago when Ryan was working in an assisted living facility where the board member’s mother-in-law was staying. He has worked and volunteered with many other service-based companies and nonprofits over the years. He says being able to serve others is what he looks for most in a job. Which makes him perfect for us!
When Ryan saw our job opening online he realized who we were (the organization he’d heard about from that board member!) and called up to ask about volunteering. Some of his first comments after volunteering were about the atmosphere at the warehouse. He said everyone was so positive and kind.
It didn’t take long for our staff to start inquiring about his hobbies and what he’d done before. We learned that Ryan had warehouse experience, used to do donation pickups for a different nonprofit, had some sales experience, worked with the elderly, and had volunteered with NAMI Northwest LA for a number of years. He was perfect!
Ryan trained under Tony, our previous warehouse coordinator/ Pop-Up Auction extraordinaire, for a few weeks and started work on September 1st. He has been a great fit and has never met a stranger. Somehow everyone that visits the Nest knows him by some degree of separation.
Our staff, volunteers, and donors are so happy to have Ryan as a part of the team. He has done a great job and we’re excited to continue working with him!
