Position: Program Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $17.00/Hour; Full-time
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator supports the daily operations and programs of Renesting Project, contributing directly to the organization’s mission of gathering and distributing gently used furniture and household items for those in need in Northwest Louisiana. This position assists with furniture and household goods collection, storage, and distribution, supports volunteer coordination, and ensures efficient and safe warehouse and client service operations.
Working under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator serves as a key member of the team, helping maintain smooth program delivery, fostering positive community and donor relationships, and ensuring that clients and volunteers experience a welcoming, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a nonprofit, warehouse, or customer service environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google suite of services.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move furniture and household goods safely.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug screenings, as required by organizational policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with volunteers or in a client service setting.
  • Familiarity with logistics, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience driving box trucks or similar vehicles.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with office and data management software.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely operate organization vehicles, including box trucks, as required for program logistics.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds individually, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Operations

  • Assist with the collection, storage, and distribution of donated furniture and household items.
  • Maintain organized warehouse space, ensuring clean, safe, and efficient conditions.
  • Track incoming and outgoing inventory using established systems.
  • Support loading and unloading of vehicles for deliveries, pickups, and donation events.

Volunteer Support

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of volunteers during program activities.
  • Provide on-site guidance and ensure volunteers understand safety and operational procedures.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven volunteer experience.

Client Services

  • Help coordinate client appointments and deliveries in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Ensure that items provided to clients meet quality and safety standards.
  • Support data collection on client outcomes and service delivery.

Community & Donor Relations

  • Support community outreach efforts, including events, donation drives, and partnerships.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with donors and partner agencies through professional communication and follow-up.
  • Coordinate and facilitate orientation for new agency partners and update databases accordingly.

Administrative Support

  • Perform general office duties such as data entry, filing, and answering phone calls.
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and communications to support program operations.
  • Provide general support to the Executive Director and staff as needed.

Environmental Factors & Physical Demands:
Work is performed in office, warehouse, and community settings. The role may require occasional lifting and moving of furniture and household goods (typically up to 50 pounds, and over 100 pounds with assistance).
